China-based YolTech Therapeutics has closed a Series C financing round of nearly RMB 500 million (USD 74 million). The round was led by Loyal Valley Capital, with participation from other investment institutions. Founded in 2021, the company is developing in vivo gene editing therapies designed to be one-time, potentially curative treatments. Its platform includes a high-throughput gene editor discovery system and a proprietary LNP delivery technology for targeting different tissues.
The company has advanced six programs into the clinic, claiming the most clinical-stage in vivo gene editing pipeline globally. Its lead candidate, YOLT‑201 for transthyretin-mediated (ATTR) amyloidosis, is the first LNP‑based in vivo gene editing therapy to enter registrational trials in China, having completed dosing in a Phase I/IIa study. Another candidate, YOLT‑203 for primary hyperoxaluria, has received clearance for a confirmatory trial in the US. Other pipeline assets target more prevalent conditions like hypercholesterolaemia.
