Create Medicines has closed a USD 122 million Series B financing round to advance its pipeline of in vivo immune cell reprogramming therapies. The round was led by Newpath Partners, ARCH Venture Partners and Hatteras Venture Partners. The funds will support programs in both autoimmunity and oncology. The lead immunology candidate, CRT-402, is a CD19-targeted in vivo CAR-T therapy designed to deplete pathogenic B-cells. The company is also developing a CD19×BCMA dual-targeting in vivo CAR-T (CRT-403) to broaden its reach in autoimmune diseases.
In oncology, the company highlighted promising early clinical data for MT-303, a GPC3-targeted in vivo CAR-macrophage (CAR-M) therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Founded in 2019, Create utilises a proprietary mRNA-LNP platform to directly reprogram T-cells, NK cells and myeloid cells inside the patient's body. The company reports that its in vivo CAR clinical programs have now treated over 50 patients. The financing reflects the high level of continued investment and interest in the in vivo cell therapy sector.
PharmCube's NextBiopharm® database lists a total of 48 CD19-targeted in vivo CAR-T candidates, including 20 in human trials ahead of CRT-402, which is in the preclinical stage. Click here to request a free trial for NextBiopharm®.
