Novartis has entered into a multi-year collaboration with Orionis Biosciences to discover and develop molecular glue degraders targeting challenging therapeutic targets across multiple disease areas. The partnership leverages Orionis' Allo-Glue platform, an AI-driven discovery engine designed to systematically identify and optimise monovalent molecular glues that induce or enhance specific protein-protein interactions. Orionis will receive a USD 40 million upfront payment and is eligible for up to USD 1.4 billion in research, development, and commercial milestones, plus tiered royalties on net sales.
This agreement deepens an existing relationship between the two companies dating back to 2020. Orionis has also secured major collaborations with Genentech, including a 2023 deal valued at over USD 2 billion and a subsequent 2025 expansion.
According to PharmCube's NextBiopharm® database, Novartis is the second-most active licensee of molecular glues after BMS. Click here to request a free trial for NextBiopharm®.
