InxMed has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese compatriot Fosun Pharma, granting the latter exclusive commercialisation rights in Mainland China for two FAK inhibitors, ifebemtinib (IN10018) and IN10028. Under the agreement, InxMed will receive an upfront payment of RMB 100 million and is eligible for up to RMB 1.015 billion in milestone payments tied to development, regulatory and sales achievements. Ifebemtinib is currently in Phase III development in China for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, while IN10028 has received clearance to enter Phase I trials. Both candidates target various solid tumours.
Ifebemtinib, which has received breakthrough therapy designation (BTD) in China and fast track designation in the US, is designed to inhibit both the kinase and scaffolding functions of FAK. Early clinical data in recurrent ovarian cancer showed promising efficacy in combination with chemotherapy. IN10028 is a second-generation FAK inhibitor designed with optimised pharmacokinetics and safety. The deal leverages Fosun Pharma's extensive commercial network and oncology expertise to accelerate market access for these novel therapies.
