CSPC Pharmaceutical Group has received regulatory clearance in its China homeland to begin clinical trials for SYS6063, which it touts as the world's first mRNA‑LNP‑based dual‑target CAR‑T therapy. The candidate is designed to simultaneously target CD19 and BCMA, aiming to precisely eliminate pathogenic B cells and plasma cells. Its initial indication will be relapsed or refractory systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), marking a significant expansion of CAR‑T applications into autoimmune diseases.
Preclinical data indicate potent cytotoxicity against CD19‑ and BCMA‑positive cells with a favourable safety profile. Beyond SLE, the company plans to explore the platform's potential in other B‑cell‑mediated autoimmune conditions such as myasthenia gravis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as in haematological malignancies including multiple myeloma (MM) and B‑cell lymphoma (BCL).
